Description
Limited Collector’s First Edition — Only 100 Numbered Copies
There are planners you use for a year and throw away.
This is one you’ll want to keep.
Inspired by the world of Sherlock Holmes and the beautifully made books of the Victorian era, The Baker Street Casebook is a 6 × 9-inch luxury hardcover planner, journal, and curiosity book created for readers who still love the feel of a handsome book in their hands.
Bound as a substantial hardback, printed on carefully selected premium uncoated paper chosen both for its luxurious feel and its suitability for writing, and designed throughout in an elegant Victorian style, the Casebook is intended to feel less like an ordinary planner and more like a personal volume from the shelves of 221B Baker Street.
Open it and you’ll find a practical dated planner covering October 2026 through December 2027—but threaded throughout are quotations, puzzles, forgotten expressions, period curiosities, and illustrations drawn from the extraordinary world in which Sherlock Holmes first appeared.
A YEAR OF CASES TO BE SOLVED
Each week becomes a new case log.
Record your appointments.
Make observations.
Keep track of matters requiring investigation.
Write down the things that absolutely must not be forgotten.
And occasionally turn the page to discover something unexpected from the Victorian world: a curious expression, a Sherlock Holmes quotation, an observation challenge, an old puzzle, or a classic illustration from the original age of The Strand Magazine.
INSIDE THE CASEBOOK
October 2026–December 2027
The planner begins in October 2026, so there is no need to wait until New Year’s Day to begin using it, and continues through the entire 2027 calendar year.
Weekly Case Logs
Thoughtfully designed weekly pages provide generous room for appointments, plans, observations, priorities, notes, and the week’s most important “case.”
Monthly Planning Pages
Plan ahead with monthly calendars for important dates, engagements, deadlines, travel, and other matters requiring attention.
Sherlock Holmes Quotations
Memorable lines selected from Arthur Conan Doyle’s original public-domain Sherlock Holmes stories and novels.
Sidney Paget Illustrations
Selected period illustrations by Sidney Paget, the artist whose drawings for The Strand Magazine helped establish the enduring visual image of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.
Victorian Curiosities
Small, strange, funny, and occasionally astonishing glimpses of nineteenth-century life drawn from genuine period books and reference works.
Passing English
Forgotten Victorian expressions drawn from J. Redding Ware’s remarkable Passing English of the Victorian Era.
Observation & Deduction
Short challenges inspired by Holmes’s most famous principle: there is a considerable difference between seeing something and actually observing it.
Puzzles & Amusements
Occasional ciphers, number problems, card puzzles, and other diversions adapted from genuine nineteenth-century books of games, conjuring, puzzles, and popular amusements.
MADE AS A BOOK, NOT A DISPOSABLE PLANNER
Part of the pleasure of The Baker Street Casebook is the object itself.
This is a proper 6 × 9-inch hardcover book, designed to have the weight, texture, and presence of a small collector’s edition.
The substantial hardback binding is paired with a rich navy-and-antique-gold cover design inspired by late-Victorian bookmaking.
Inside, the pages are printed on premium uncoated text stock, selected for its pleasing weight, warm tactile quality, and comfortable writing surface.
The larger 6 × 9-inch format provides enough room to write naturally while remaining compact enough to carry in a briefcase, handbag, backpack, or travel bag.
The design deliberately avoids the glossy, disposable feeling of many mass-market planners. The aim is something quieter and more substantial: a handsome volume you use every day and keep on the shelf when the year is over.
DRAWN FROM THE VICTORIAN BOOKSHELF
The quotations, historical facts, expressions, puzzles, and curiosities throughout the Casebook are drawn from identifiable public-domain works and historical sources.
Among them are Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes canon, J. Redding Ware’s Passing English of the Victorian Era, Francis Galton’s Finger Prints, Enquire Within Upon Everything, How to Become a Magician, collections of old English customs and curiosities, and other period works.
A source section identifies the historical books behind the material appearing throughout the Casebook.
STRICTLY LIMITED TO 100 COPIES
The first edition of The Baker Street Casebook will consist of just 100 individually numbered hardcover copies.
Each will be marked:
FIRST COLLECTOR’S EDITION
No. ___ / 100
Because this is a dated 2026–2027 edition, this exact edition will never be printed again once the 100 copies are gone.
Future editions may contain different dates, curiosities, puzzles, quotations, and illustrations—but the first Casebook will remain the first.
