Mrs McGinty’s Dead
The Queen of Mystery has come to Harper Collins! Agatha Christie, the acknowledged mistress of suspense—creator of indomitable sleuth Miss Marple, meticulous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, and so many other unforgettable characters—brings her entire oeuvre of ingenious whodunits, locked room mysteries, and perplexing puzzles to Harper Paperbacks.
In Mrs. McGinty’s Dead, the intrepid Poirot looks into the case of a brutally murdered landlady. The story was initially published in a U.S. magazine in 1951 as Blood Will Tell. In 1952, it was published as a novel and has remained a classic to this day, going on to receive multiple film, television, and radio adaptations. Today, Hercule Poirot is regarded as one of Christie’s most famous characters and one of the most famous literary detectives, appearing in thirty-three novels and fifty-one short stories published between the years of 1920 and 1975. Other significant works in which Poirot appears include The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and Murder on the Orient Express.
