The first issue of the Strand Magazine
The one that started it all! First published in 1999, the first issue of the Strand is finally available (quantities are limited). Collectors have been paying as much as $200 a copy, in honor of our 30th issue, the publishers of the Strand are releasing a limited number of magazines. The First issue featured fiction by Henry Slesar, James Sallis, Jonathan Harrington, Dennis Smith, and Ben Pastor. The Strand also published articles about Wilkie Collins, a study of Holmes and Lord Wimsey, and our series on Great Detectives profiled Futrelle’s Thinking Machine.
